Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız said that natural gas flow from Turkey to Greece began yesterday.

Yıldız told reporters that winter conditions were very heavy in Turkey and especially in Europe this year, however, Turkey did not have any difficulty in its energy supplies.

Noting that he received a call from his Greek counterpart two days ago, Yıldız said that he understood the difficult conditions in Greece, and thus, natural gas flow from Turkey to Greece was re-started yesterday.

Yıldız said that the pressure of natural gas flowing from Turkey to Greece was reduced due to problems in Azerbaijani and Iranian natural gas pipelines last week, adding that Turkey had not been able to transfer natural gas to Greece.

Yıldız said that at least 600 people died due to heavy winter conditions in Europe.
