Egan-Jones Downgrades Portugal To B-Plus From Double-B

Egan-Jones Ratings Co. Thursday cut its rating on Portugal to single-B-plus from double-B, saying the European Financial Stability Facility is likely to be called upon to fund "a large portion" of the country's needs.
"The overriding question is how the country will be able to reach stability," Egan-Jones said in its rating. "We remain very concerned about Portugal's credit quality and are cutting our rating."
