Latest data suggested that the dual-crises in Europe and MENA are starting to take their toll on Turkish manufacturing performance. The seasonally adjusted HSBC Turkey Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index™ (PMI™) sank below the no-change mark of 50.0 in August for the first time since the recession ended mid-2009. At 48.8 (down from 52.3 in July), the index pointed to a modest decline in the sector’s health.
